Glen Robert Puckett

Mr. Glen Robert Puckett, 75, of 1415 Hatchers Chapel Road, Claudville, VA, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Puckett was born November 8, 1932, in Patrick County to the late Ben Puckett and Blanche Croaff Puckett Wilson. Mr. Puckett was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War and was a retired farmer. Mr. Puckett was a member of Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities. Glen is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Glenna Puckett of Winston-Salem and Darlene and Kenneth Potts of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Tommie Potts of Columbia and Matthew Levi Potts of Mount Airy; and a sister, Evelyn Puckett of Patrick Springs, VA, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Slate Puckett; and a sister, Lida Ruth Prater. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Sherrill, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service.
