Mr. Glenn William Armfield, Jr. age 69, of Mount Airy passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Armfield was born in Forsyth County, October 22, 1948 the son of the late Glenn William Armfield Sr., and Faye Snow Armfield. Glenn graduated from North Surry High School in 1966 and graduated from North Carolina State University in 1970. He achieved his Eagle Scout Award with Troop 557 of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Armfield was a buyer for R.J. Reynolds and was one of the first paramedics of the Surry County EMS. Mr. Armfield retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he was a contracting specialist officer. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean Harbin Armfield, of the home; one son, Thomas Glenn Armfield, of Fairmont, West VA; one daughter, Michele Lovell of Denton MD ; three grandchildren, Caeley Lovell, Lacey Lovell, and Josey Lovell. His family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy on Friday July 6, 2018   from 3:00 until 4:00 PM. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Armfield family.
