Glenn Edward Marshall

Mr. Glenn Marshall, age 83 of Ararat, Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Galax Nursing and Rehab.  He was born on May 12, 1940, in Patrick County to the late Rev. Edward and Evelyn Peele Marshall.  Mr. Marshall was a dedicated Peach Orchard Farmer.  He loved to pick and carry on with everyone.  He loved fishing and hunting, and thought the sun rose and set in all his grandchildren.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife Opal Marshall; a daughter, Karen Campbell (Kevin Clark); son Kevin Marshall (Jennifer); grandchildren, Kayla Collins (Dustin), Devin Hill, Ashley Hill; great-grandchildren, Liam Collins, Kaison Collins; sister Frieda Hall.  In addition to his parents Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by sisters, Frankie Edwards, Hattie Atkins, Virginia Harold; brothers, Roy Marshall, and Wilford Marshall.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery with service conducted by Rev. Ricky Martin.  The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until time to leave for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mr. Marshall to Mountain Valley Hospice 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
