Glenn Edward Pike

Mr. Glenn Edward Pike, 74, of 2036 East Pine Street, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006, at his home. Mr. Pike was born August 15, 1932, in Patrick County, VA, to the late James William and Nellie Mitchell Pike. After 40 years of service, he retired as vice president from Pike Electric Inc. in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenda Thomas Pike of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandy and Dennis Atkins of Dobson and Barbara Riley of Mount Airy; four grandchildren and spouses, Angie and Richard Smith and Benji Atkins, all of Dobson, and Sam and Alex Riley and Charles Riley, all of Jacksonville, FL; two great grandchildren, Isaac Riley of Jacksonville, FL, and Olivia Smith of Dobson; a sister, Mary Jane Pike of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, James William "Bill" Pike, Jr. and Betty Pike of Charlotte; his stepmother, Pauline Lyons Pike of Jonesville; a stepsister, Nancy Lyons of Jonesville; a stepbrother, Charles Lyons of Jonesville; and several special nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 17, 2006, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Sam McCracken, Bobby Sylvia, and Stephen Jayne. Burial will be in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
