Glenn Alexandria Wood

        Mr. Glenn Alexandria Wood, age 93, passed away January 18, 2019 at his home in Stuart, VA. He was born in Patrick County, VA on July 18, 1925 to the late J. Walter Wood and Ada DeHart Wood. Mr. Wood was also preceded in death by his older brother, Garland Clay Wood. He was a sawmiller, a racecar driver, a race team founder and owner. Later in life, he was a gardener who loved to watch things grow, in particular, his family. He was of the Christian faith and a loving and devoted husband, daddy, grandpa and great grandpa.

        Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Bernece Moricle Wood of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Carol Wood, Len and Nancy Wood, all of Stuart; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Terry Hall of Stuart; two grandsons, Jonathan Wood and wife Amanda, Keven Wood; one granddaughter, Jordan Hicks and husband Michael; two great-grandsons, Riley Wood and Bailey Wood; two great-granddaughters, Giselle Hicks and London Hicks; three brothers, Ray Lee Wood, Delano Wood and Leonard Wood, all of Stuart; one sister, Crystal Wood of Woolwine, VA; and several cousins.

        Private family services will be held for Mr. Wood. There will be guestbooks available to sign at both Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and The Wood Brothers Racing Museum in Stuart and anyone wishing to pay their last respects to Glenn are welcome to do so at the funeral home in Stuart from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM Saturday and from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Sunday.
