Gloria Anne Wilson Chappell

Mrs. Gloria Anne Wilson Chappell, 57, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, at Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Chappell was born November 9, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Tobie Harrell and Mary Anne Thomas Wilson. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a dedicated emergency room nurse for 28 years and the past 22 years at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Thurston Chappell of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Shanda and Jimmy Phillips of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Robin Chappell of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, Austin Lee Phillips, Madison Elizabeth Phillips, Grayson Thomas Chappell, Spencer James Chappell, Eli Wilson Chappell, Wyatt Alexander Chappell, and Peyton Isabella Chappell; two stepgrandchildren, Raven Nicole Medina and Marc Anthony Medina; a sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Rudy Rose of Birmingham, AL; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harrell and Jackie Wilson of Snellville, GA. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. David Burgess and Eulogist Frank Clawson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time of the service.
