Gloria L. Prutting

            Mrs. Gloria L. Prutting, age 92, of Stuart, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.  She was born on May 17, 1926 in Oceanside, Long Island, N.Y., and resided most of her life on Long Island, N.Y.  She worked and retired at Brookhaven Hospital in Long Island, N.Y. and later moved to Patrick County to be close to her sons and families.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Bertha Fowler; one son, Richard Prutting; and one sister, Audrey Hammel.

            Surviving are her sons, Kenneth Prutting and wife, Anita of Stuart, Steven Prutting and wife, Nancy of Shady Side, MD; one sister, Patricia Morgan and husband, Jim of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

            A visitation will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the One Family Productions, 1777 Rye Cove Creek Rd., Stuart, VA 24171 in Gloria’s name.  A non-profit organization that partners with local organizations to raise money for Patrick County’s Food Bank, Caring Hearts Free Clinic, Dan River Basin Association, established an educations fund, Patrick County Skate Park, and others.
