Goldie Harrell O'Neal

Mrs. Goldie Harrell O'Neal, 73, of Ararat, NC, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born May 1, 1936, in Forsyth County, to the late Lydia Stanley Harrell and the late Joey Harrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton O'Neal; and a brother, Bill Harrell. Mrs. O'Neal retired from Spencer's Inc. in Mount Airy and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her daughter, Priscilla Phillips of Westfield; two grandchildren, Chevy and Cameron Phillips; her step-mother, Mozell Harrell of Ararat; three sisters, Lou Russell and Betty Stalizer, both of Winston-Salem, and Joyce Torres of Asheboro; and a brother, Robert Harrell of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Anchor Baptist Church. Burial will follo in the Ararat Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Hall will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends at Anchor Baptist Church on Tuesday from noon until the time of the service. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Goldie O'Neal Burial Fund, c/o Priscilla Phillips, 1209 Old Orchard Road, Westfield, NC 27053.
