Grace Turner

            Mrs. Grace Light Turner, age 97 of Stuart, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  She was born in Patrick County on January 11, 1922 to the late Albert and Dolly Handy Light.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Turner; two daughters, Barbara Turner Anderson, Shirley Turner Boyd; one son, Otis Turner; three sisters, Bessie Reynolds, Edna Hughes, Beadie Turner; three brothers, Raymond, Clifford, and Camden Light; one daughter-in-law, Kay F. Turner; and one son-in-law, Robert W. Boyd.  Grace was of the Primitive Baptist faith and attended Dobyns Primitive Baptist Church.

            Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Elvaleen and Calvin McAlexander of Meadows of Dan, Carolyn and Charlie Lawless of Stuart; one son, Gary Turner of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandchildren, Brad Anderson and wife, Shannon, Conna Fiorello and husband, Jeff, Greg Boyd and wife, Angie, Rebecca Nester and husband, Bucky, Jason McAlexander and wife, Jennifer, Wes Turner and wife, Brit; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

            A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Community Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Howard Nester officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart before going to the cemetery in procession.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Patrick County Chapter, P.O.
