Gray Franklin Key

Mr. Gray Franklin Key, age 83, of Mount Airy passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by his family. Mr. Key was born on October 15, 1938, in Surry County, to the late Posey and Hazel Redman Key. Gray proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Gray had a passion for woodworking, golfing, and cooking. He was employed by Dixie Concrete for over 20 years and later retired from Cross Creek Apparel. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 55 years, June Martin Key; a son, Ken Key and wife Kristi; three grandchildren, Haley Key, Tyler Key, Grayson Key; one niece and her spouse, Rhonda McBride; and a brother-in-law, James McBride. In addition to his parents, Mr. Key was preceded in death by sister, Frances Key McBride and a niece, Yvonne Beck. All services for Mr. Key are private. Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is assisting the family.
