Greenberry Upchurch

Mr. Greenberry Upchurch, age 72 of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday morning August 14, 2009 at his home. He was born in Carroll Co. VA on April 4, 1937 to the late Frank and Betsy Baker Upchurch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister Raleigh, Clayton, Brady Upchurch, and Emmie Casey. He was a member of Blackwater Community Church. Surviving are two sisters and brother-in-law Mamie Jane Potts, Lilly Mae and Lonnie Danley, all of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews; caregivers and special nephew and his wife Robert and Christy Potts, of Dobson; his special pet "Misty". Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday August 16, 2009 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Edwards-Upchurch Family cemetery, in Lambsburg, VA. Rev. Ted Crotts will officiate the services. The family will receive friends on Sunday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 12:00 until time of the service at 2:00PM.
