Gregory Dean "Greg" Thomas

Mr. Greg Thomas, 67, of Cadle Ford Road, Mt. Airy passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Pensacola, Florida on April 6, 1956, to the late Casper and Herman Thomas.  Mr. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends.  He was a member of Union Hill Friends Church.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife Sue, son and daughter-in-law, Devin and Christen Thomas of Fletcher and son and daughter-in-law Cameron and Heather Thomas of Mt. Airy; and siblings and in-laws Keith Thomas, Mark and Jo Ann Thomas; and Donna and Gary Wilson and three grandchildren, Carlee, Bentley and Avery who were the loves of his life; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Kay Miller and many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Casper Thomas; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Gail Branch.  Greg loved collecting Case knives, making clocks and loved his lawn mowers and tractors.  On any sunny summer day, you would find him on his lawn mower for hours at a time and loved watching the North Carolina Tar Heels.  He served for 3 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Collins Chevrolet in 2021 with 44 years of service.  He was a faithful member of the White Plains Ruritan Club.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Union Hill Friends Church with the Rev. Ernest L. Brown and the Rev. Ricky Easter and Joshua Sechrist officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 23, 2023, before the service.
