Guy Randolph Bowman

Mr. Guy Randolph Bowman, age 79 of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Friday, September 06, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Mr. Bowman was born in Patrick County on October 5, 1933 to the late Jesse J. and Mabel Blanche Cunningham Bowman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Epperson Bowman of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Tammy Sue and William Roger Mays of Angier, NC, two sons and daughters-in-law Jeff R. and Elizabeth Bowman of Seattle, WA. and James A. and Brenda Bowman of Lynchburg, three grandchildren Rhonda Duff of Angier, NC, Ann Marie Stum of Virginia Beach, VA and Jessica Bowman of Harrisonburg, VA, two great grandchildren Delaney Duff and Madison Duff. In addition to his parents Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by three brothers Frank Bowman, Junior Bowman and Paul Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post # 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post # 9436. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home in Mt. Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
