Guy McHone, Sr

My Guy McHone, 89, of Mocksville, formerly of Dobson, passed away on Thursday November 26, 2009 at Davie Place Residential Care. Mr. McHone was born in Surry County on June 28, 1920 to the late William Jerry and Lizzie Marsh McHone. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Marie Brown of Courtney; two sons, Monroe McHone of Pilot Mountain and fiance Anita Richardson; and Brian McHone of Hollywood, CA; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. McHone was preceded in death by a brother, Ward McHone and a sister, Alice Bingham. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Dobson City cemetery by Rev. Mike Shelton with burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home until time of the graveside service.
