Gwen Carter Washburn

Mrs. Gwen Carter Washburn, age 76, of Elkin, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at her home. She was born March 26, 1946, in Forsyth County to the late Stewart Hinson Carter and the late Dorothy Hamby Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Emmett Washburn II; her daughter, Pamela Dawn Washburn; her grandson, Daniel Thomas Beaty; and her daughter, Pamela Dawn Washburn... Left to cherish her memories are her sons and daughter-in-law, Leonard Emmett Washburn III and Beverly Washburn and Christopher David Washburn; her grandchildren, Amanda Beaty Armes (Rusty), Matthew Ryan Beaty, Bryan Richardson, Wesley Richardson, and Lee Stelmach; great-grandchildren, Austin Armes, Anthony Armes, Hannah Armes, Angel Armes, Bella Armes, Kaylee Stelmach and Leanna Trull; great-great-grandchildren, Braylon Armes and Saylor Armes; and her brother, Kenneth Carter. Mrs. Washburn had retired from the United States Postal Service. A family conducted memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Kellie Childress officiating. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Washburn Family.
