Mr. Hal William Heath, age 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Heath was born August 3, 1935, to the late Rev. Harmon William Heath and Ellen Culler Heath. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to the many that were blessed to have known him. Hal worked at North Carolina Granite Corporation as Plant Engineer. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Clyde Johnson of Dobson, Frances and Lance Earley of Mount Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, David Heath of Mount Airy, Mark and Pam Heath of Mount Airy; grandchildren and their spouses, Brittney Preslar and Jason, Justin Johnson, Tiffany Baker and Ethan, Levi Earley, Lindsey King and Devin; great grandchildren, Finn Preslar, Sarah Whittington, Gracelynn King, Olyvia King, and Cayden Baker; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bobby Hiatt; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Von Heath, Roby and Elizabeth Heath, Kent and Shelia Heath. In addition to his parents, Mr. Heath was preceded in death by loving wife of many years, Shirley Atkins Heath, mother and father-in-law, Marie Wolfe Atkins and Coy “Nathan” Atkins; nephew, Nathan Atkins; brother-in-law, Jerry Moore; sister-in-law, Judy White. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 3 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the VFW Honor Guard providing military rites. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to give special thanks to the Forsyth Medical Center Oncology 9th Floor, and Mountain Valley Hospice for all the care and compassion shown during Daddy’s sickness.
