Mrs. Hallie Louise Reynolds McMillian, 86, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. McMillian was born January 6, 1923, in Surry County, to the Rev. Jessie Vester and Annie Rogers Reynolds. She retired from Spencer's Inc. and attended Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jilda Faye McMillian of Dobson, and Joann McMillian and Anthony Greer and Jeanette and Danny Gravely, all of Mount Airy; three sons, Larry McMillian of Meadows of Dan, VA, Garry McMillian of Darlington, SC, and Terry McMillian of Mount Airy; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn Hodge and Barbara and Hilton Creed, all of Mount Airy, and Mycleta and Zane Cox of Pfafftown; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Glen Reynolds of Mount Airy and Carlton and Frances Reynolds of Greensboro. Mrs. McMillian was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar McMillian; an infant daughter, Louise McMillian; three great-grandchildren; and her parents, the Rev. Jessie Vester and Annie Rogers Reynolds. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at 1:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 27, 2009, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. The family will also receive friends at other times at the home of Mrs. McMillian's sister, Barbara Creed, 1344 George Chandler Road, Mount Airy.
