Mr. Harlan Kenneth Gammons, III “Kenny”, age 55 of the Siloam community passed away January 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. For the first time in a long time, our beloved father is no longer in pain and is no longer suffering. He is in the arms of Jesus and his father. He was born in Surry County, NC on December 11, 1969, to the late Harlan Kenneth Gammons, II and Frankie Delana Gammons. Kenny graduated from Surry Central High School and worked for Pike Electric for many years, he later went on to be a self-employed car dealer. Kenny had a very deep passion for fishing and loved to go with his grandfather, Harlan Sr., taking as many trips as he could. Kenny was an avid collector, he was always looking for a good deal, but nothing meant more to him than his two special sons, and the rest of his family. Kenny is survived by his mother, Frankie Delana Simpson of Mount Airy, NC; step-father, Jackie Mears (Kim) of Mount Airy, NC; his two sons, Kenneth “JD” Gammons (Cidney) of Dobson, NC, and Casey Gammons and Olivia Johnson of Mount Airy, NC; the mother of his two children, Susan Marsh Hill of Westfield, NC; two granddaughters, Ellie Gammons and Lillie Gammons; brother, Tommy Mears and Amy Jones of Ararat, NC; several aunts and uncles, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harlan Kenneth Gammons Sr. and Cornelle Gammons, Delmar and Ruth Love. A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with the Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to express their gratitude to Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, the Staff at Elkin Dialysis for the care given to Kenny, YVEDDI for transporting him to and from the doctor’s office. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Gammon’s family.
