Harmel Francis

Mr. Harmel Lee Francis, 82, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Lee County on May 16, 1939 to the late Paul and Marjorie Hawks Francis.  Mr. Francis retired from Pike Electric, and then retired from Surry Telephone.  He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.  He is survived by the loving mother of his children, Loretta Iris Flake; daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Utt and Mike, Paula Dellenback and Dennis; grandchildren and spouses, Dennis Jacob, Jr., Nicole Dellenback, Teresa Dellenback, Joey Hundley and Beth, Mandy Inman and Ross, Melissa Utt, Michael Utt, Jr. and Brittany; great grandchildren, “papa’s rug rats”, Elizabeth Dellenback, Willow Doss, Payton Doss, Caiti Clayton, Colton Clayton, C.J. Clayton, Emmy Hundley, Shawn Hundley, Kaylee Inman, Krystyn Haynes, D.J. Haynes, Taylor Beauregard, Bradlee Morgan, and Blake Inman; a special friend, Joanne Vernon.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
