Mr. Harold Monroe Dalton, 71, of Ararat, passed away early Friday morning, November 19, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital. Mr. Dalton was born May 31, 1950, in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late McKinley Reynolds and Daisy Bell Tolley Dalton. Harold worked at Bassett Furniture for many years. He is survived by a sister, Freda Rakes of Ararat; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Jerry and Imogene Dalton of Fancy Gap, VA, Ronnie and Harriet Dalton of Mount Airy, Dean and Shelby Dalton of Ararat, and Ricky and Bertha Dalton and Earl Dalton, all of Cana, VA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel McMillian Dalton; an infant daughter, Danielle Ann Dalton; two sisters, Ruth Ellen Dalton and Mable Tate; a brother, Jimmy Lee Dalton; a niece, Hannah Bell Dalton; and a nephew, Michael Dalton. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronnie Payne officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from noon until 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. At other times, the family welcomes friends to the home of Freda Rakes at 593 Little Mountain Church Road, Ararat.
