Mr. Harold Monroe Hodges, age 77 of Dobson passed away on Thursday morning November 9, 2006
At Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Hodges was born in Surry County on March 15, 1929 to the late Julius Brady Hodges and the late Cora Savannah Nichols Hodges. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the former owner and operator of Colonial Rest Home in Mt. Airy. Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law Keith Nathan Hodges, Hal Grant and April Hodges, John Preston and Sandra Hodges, Steven Douglas and Jennifer Hodges, Harold Tracy and Debbie Hodges all of Dobson; eighteen grandchildren Jennifer Leigh Johnson, Brittany Telina Hodges, Nathanial Grey Hodges, Lucas Brady Hodges,Tasha Danyelle Hodges, Adam Dewayne Marion,Preston Wayne Hodges, Zackery Tyler Hodges, Skyler Brian Hodges, Christian Storm Hodges, Aurora Frances Hodges, Stefan Barrett Hodges, Rose Lenora Hodges, Morgan Robert Hodges, Julia Laverne Hodges, Elizabeth Dean Hodges; a sister Velna Mitchell of Dobson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two wive's Betty Lavern Hodges, and Velma Dean Hodges; two brothers Winfred Leo Hodges and Odell Brady Hodges. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday November 12, 2006 at Central View Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The Services will be officiated by Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Rev. Van Brindle. The Family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Saturday evening from 7 until 9 PM.
