Harry Harold

With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of our beloved father, Harry Harold. He passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, surrounded by his dear wife and devoted daughters. 

He was a supportive, loving father, a faithful husband, a protective brother, and a friend to many.  Daddy was known for his quick wit, mischievous smile, and infectious laugh. The love of tending orchards flowed through his veins.  He carried on the family legacy by becoming a prominent orchardist in the Willis Gap, Virginia, area.  In Daddy’s free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, tending his bees, playing his guitar, and doting on his dogs. Two of his favorite pastimes were riding his Harley Davidson with his wife and fishing with his brothers. 

Most importantly, Daddy was a selfless person.  Until the very end, he took care of those he loved most.  While his passing has left a massive void in our hearts and lives, we take comfort in knowing that he is celebrating in Heaven with loved ones that passed before him.  We look forward to reuniting with him one day.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Raylene Mabry; two daughters, Christa (Mike) Burnette and Angela (Melissa Holder) Harold; three grandchildren, Asia (Skyler Reep) Harold, Ty Harold and his fiancé, Miya Russell, and Claire Burnette; two step-children, Nick (Mandy) Ashton and Sara (David) Beasley; eight step-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Gail Wallace; a brother, Sammy Harold; and his father, Harry Clifford Harold.

In addition to his mother, Eva Joy Hiatt Harold, Harry was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Martin Harold, and a stepson, Adam Ashton.  Per his wishes, all services for Mr. Harold are being held privately. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Harold family.
