Harry Delano "Dale" Montgomery, Sr.

Mr. Harry Delano “Dale” Montgomery, Sr., age 75, of Mount Airy passed away early Friday morning, February 28, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born July 3, 1949, in Patrick County to the late Warren Montgomery and Gertrude Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery had retired after many years of service with the City of King in the Public Works Department. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Allan Scott Jr., DJ Montgomery, and Ashley; grandchildren, Samuel Scott and Rhea, Cory Scott, and Paisley Montgomery; great grandchildren, Tyler Scott, and Nova Scott; several brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Jean Montgomery, and beloved pet, Laci. A graveside service will be held at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Larry Thomas officiating. Per Dale Montgomerys’ request, there will not be a formal visitation. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and support shown during Mr. Montgomery’s illness.
