Mr. Harry Lee Tilley, age 89, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Surry Health and Rehabilitation.  He was born on February 18, 1929 to the late Elwood and Emma Utt Tilley. Mr. Tilley opened Millers Tavern in 1954 and having the longest held ABC license in Surry County having held it for 58 Years.  He also loved westerns and collecting antiques.  Left to cherish his memories are a sister, Verna Tilley Ayers; a niece, Robin Godwin and husband Mike; two great-nieces and one great-nephew; special cousins and care givers, Roy and Karen Utt; special neighbors and care givers, Rhonda Slayton and family; longtime friend and care giver Bonnie Coleson as well as several cousins.  In addition to his parents Mr. Tilley was preceded in death by the love of his life whom he married in 1956, his wife, Mae Miller Tilley; he was also preceded in death by a brother George Tilley.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Oakdale Cemetery with service conducted by Rev. Mark Utt.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time to leave for the Cemetery at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
