Mrs. Hattie Elizabeth McCann Dixon Age 88 of Lowgap, NC. widow of Mr. Austin Avery Dixon passed away June 9, 2007 at the home of her daughter. Mrs.Dixon was born May 17, 1919 in Surry County to the late Rubin and Verlie Blevins McCann and was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Irene and Ray Parrish and Deborah and Mark Mayes all of Lowgap, four sons and daughters-in-law Harold and Margaret Dixon of High Point, David and Frances Dixon of Woodlawn, Mike and Diane Dixon of High Point and Sammy and Tina Dixon of Lowgap, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three sisters and brothers-in-law Retha and Charles Baugess and Alene and Tommy Golding all of State Road and Norma and Garnett Newman of Red Brush. In addition to her husband and her parents Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by one grandchild, one great grandchild two sisters Rosey and Magaline and by seven brothers Grover, Ezra, Henry, Clayton, Foley, Ray and Robert. Funeral services will be held Sunday June 10, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Roaring Gap Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Randy Parrish with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. Moody Funeral Services will be assisting the Dixon Family.
