Miss Hattie Lean Puckett, 87, of 332 Watson Road, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at her home. Miss Puckett was born January 27, 1920, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Arthur Joseph and Etta Ada Hawks Puckett. She was a homemaker and attended Westside Baptist Church. Miss Puckett, a loving sister and aunt, will be sorely missed by her family. She is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Libby Puckett and Frances Mosley, both of the home, and Ota and Eddie Sumner of Ararat, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Clevers and Vesta Puckett of Hillsville, VA; a niece, Delpha Bowman of Mount Airy; and two nephews, David Puckett and Dennis Puckett, both of Hillsville, VA. In addition to her parents, Miss Puckett was preceded in death by a sister, Lossie Viola Puckett; and a brother-in-law, Paul Mosley. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 16, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Steve Johnson and the Rev. Rayton Puckett. Burial will follow in the Puckett Memorial Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Hillsville, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
