Hazel Brannock

Miss Hazel Brannock, 98, of 146 Mount View Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, March 18, 2009, at Salemtowne Retirement Village in Winston-Salem. Miss Brannock was born February 7, 1911, in Summit County, OH, to the late Thomas P. and Della Davis Brannock. She retired from Spencer's Inc. after more than 50 years of service and was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Her love of life, nature, traveling, reading, and her love of Jesus Christ will be long remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Brannock was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Brannock Montz; and seven brothers, Omar Brannock, Garnett Brannock, Crocket Brannock, Elmer Brannock, Wilbur Brannock, Benton Brannock, and Max Brannock. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009, at First Baptist Church following the 11:00 Sunday morning worship service. The service will be conducted by Dr. Roger B. Gilbert.
