Mrs. Hazel Lee Goings Davenport, 91, of Forest City, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday morning, December 8, 2010, at White Oak Manor in Rutherfordton. She was born September 19, 1919, in the Dobson community of Surry County, to the late James Wyatt and Lillie Mae Mayes Goings. She was the former owner and operator of The Hutt Antiques and a member of Oak Lawn Baptist Church in Kernersville. Surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Nancy Goings of Winston-Salem and Joe W. and Blanca Goings of Forest City; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Davenport; and a daughter, Paula Davenport Hinsdale. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 10, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Park in Stanleyville. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
