Hazel Marie Tilley Nunn

Mrs. Hazel Marie Tilley Nunn, of Mount Airy, passed at home in peace Monday, April 9, 2018,at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Nunn; her parents, Grover and Etta Collins Tilley; and a sister, Dr. Stella Tilley Smith. She was the loving mother of Carolyn Gregory and Chuck Nunn; a proud grandmother of Scott and Brian Gregory; great-grandmother of Hanna, Cameron, Jack, Gavin, and Olivia Gregory; and sister of Wayne Tilley, Ann Tilley Kaye, and Kathy Tilley Eldridge. Hazel will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving and devoted wife of a World War II hero, a mother, sister, grandmother, co-worker, and friend. Those who knew Hazel can attest to her strong religious faith, warm personality, caring for others, high energy, colorful personality, and youthful spirit. She will be missed by all, but there is comfort knowing Hazel lived a good life and now will be with Jesus and all her loved ones who passed before her. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018, at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randy Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 1:00 PM until time for the service. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is serving the Nunn family.
