Mrs. Helen Irene Mills Brindle, 86, of 118 Pearl Essence Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Brindle was born August 17, 1925, in Surry County, to the late Herbert Mills and Viola Atkins Mills Moser. She retired from Perry Manufacturing, was a member of the Baptist faith, and attended Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Danny Griffith of Mount Airy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Ray and Nora Brindle of Fries, VA, Larry Gray and Susan Brindle of Millers Creek, and Jerry Wayne and Denise Brindle of Mount Airy; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Adelaide Spainhour of Dobson; a brother and sister-in-law, Gray and Brenda Moser of Baden Lake; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brindle was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Ray Brindle; and a brother, Bob Mills. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 27, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, with Elder V.J. Hawks and the Rev. Tim Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to The Oxford Orphanage, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565. The children of Mrs. Brindle would like to extend a special thank you to her special caregiver, Alisa Campbell, and her special nurse, Page Clifton, for all the love and care given to their mother.
