Helen Marie Chandler

Mrs. Helen Marie Collins Chandler, 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, May 02, 2020 at the home of her daughter.  She was born in Surry County on September 14, 1941 to the late Claude Jonas and Leva Mary Wolfe Collins.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are daughters and son-in-law, Crystal Goad and Christy and Joe Dobbin, son and daughter in-law, Joey and Lucy Chandler, six grandchildren  and one great-grandchild; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Stine, Ginny and Charles Reeves and Alice and Mickey Venable.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny William Chandler, brothers Samuel, Glenn and Raymond Collins.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery.
