Helen Norman Coe was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2018. She was born in Surry County to the late Ronna and Ruby Medley Norman on July 13, 1945. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Norman; sister, Betty Shaver; brother in laws, Melvin White and Clifton Shores; and a sister in law Nettie Norman. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Raymond Coe. She is also survived by a brother, Sam Norman and sisters, Katie Norman White and Maudaleen Norman Shores; sister in law Bertie Norman; many nieces and nephews; and her four legged little girl Sadie. Helen did not have any children of her own, but she mothered many nieces and nephews throughout her life and left an impression on each one of them. She even took an early retirement from Sara Lee Hosiery to take care of her great nephew. She was lovingly referred to as granny by her great nephews Cody and Brysen Vestal. Helen was a graduate of Surry Central High School and always looked forward to the class reunion and parade held each year. Helen was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. One of the most loved qualities about her was her child like excitement over the simplest of things. The family would like to thank Hospice for the wonderful loving care given to Helen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday July 3, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial in the Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the services
