Helen Imogene Moore Gwynn

Mrs. Helen Imogene Moore Gwynn, 72, of 1414 Rabbit Ridge Road, Ararat, VA, passed away Monday morning, February 13, 2012, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Gwynn was born January 18, 1940, in Patrick County, VA, the daughter of the late James William and Imogene Gunnell Moore. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Helen retired from AmeriGas and was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Fred Dale Gwynn of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Terri and John Lathan of King, Sandra Roop of Mount Airy, and Natasha and Antonio Mendoza of Ararat, NC; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nancy Haynes of Ararat, VA, and Dare and Henry Kimbrough of Texas; and special friends, Lonnie Thompson of Ararat, VA, and Jeff Hawks of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gwynn was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Gwynn; and a sister, Lois Moore Hiatt. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 3:00 PM at Harold Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Stegall officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
