Helen Mae Collins Hale

Mrs. Helen Mae Collins Hale, age 68 of Mt. Airy passed away at her home October 28, 2006. Mrs. Hale was born in Surry County, May 22, 1938 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Lillie Johnson Collins. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was retired from Brown Wooten. Mrs. Hale is survived by her husband, James Dewey (J.D.) Hale of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Rodney Ayers of Lowgap, NC; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry Wayne Hale of Dobson, NC, Michael Shane and Melissa Hale of Westfield, NC; six grandchildren; one step grandchild; two great grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Ralph Dollyhigh of Mt. Airy, NC, Virginia and Minor Lowe of Mt. Airy, NC, Viola and Dillard Newman of Lowgap, NC; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Bonnie Collins of Mt. Airy, NC, Harvey and Joyce Collins of Winchester, VA, Joe Bill and Macy Collins of Mt. Airy, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Theresa Ann Hale; a sister, Hazel Newman and one brother, Raymond Collins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy by Rev. Kenneth Jessup and Rev. Randy Bartley with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 Sunday night at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
