Mrs. Helen Louise Draughn Inman, age 94, of Elkin passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born June 29, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Claude Draughn Sr., and the late Oma Key Draughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence William Inman; her sister, Monette Whitaker; her brother, Claude Draughn Jr.; a brother-in-law, Wendell Whitaker; and her nephew, Mark Draughn.
Left to cherish her memories are her niece, Wendy Moser; her nephew, Greg Draughn; many great nieces and nephews; and many great great nieces and nephews, Mrs. Inman, was a loving wife, aunt, sibling, daughter, and friend to all that knew her, and was a life long member of Union Cross Baptist Church. Mrs. Inman worked for the US Department of Agriculture, Farm Services Agency (ASCS), until her retirement. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2023, in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Allen Horton officiating. There will be no services held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in C/O, Alfred Burton, 1813 Twin Oaks Road, Elkin NC 28621. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Inman family.
