Helen Wood Marion

Helen Wood Marion, 82, of Mount Airy, North Carolina passed away Friday, February 14, 2025. Born October 23, 1942, to the late Pete and Marylene Southard Wood. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Left to cherish her memory is her daughters and son-in-law, Anita and Chris Southard, and Angie Mounce and fiancé, Dean Durham; son, John Goad; grandchildren, Eddie Brown, Candace and Buzz Wilmoth, Chase Mounce and Elizabeth O’Connell, Carson Mounce and fiancée, Claire Draughn, Clay and Ayono Mounce; great grandchildren, Aebry Murphy, Ellis Wilmoth, Banks Brown, Birdie Brown, Sailor Brown; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Cooke, and Ann and Wayne Martin; brother, Larry Wood; and sister-in-law, Pam Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, JD (Buck) Wood, and Ellis Wood. A graveside service will take place Monday, February 17, 2025, in the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM. There will be no formal visitation. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or Hugh Chatham Nursing, in attention to the memory care unit.
