Helen Geneva Hawks McMillian

Mrs. Helen Geneva Hawks McMillian, 73, of 137 McAyers Road, Cana, VA, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at her home. Mrs. McMillian was born May 1, 1936, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Lester and Arena Cagle Hawks. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Clinton McMillian of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and David Juliana of Cana, VA; five grandchildren, Kristin Myers and her husband, Randall, of Cana, VA, Derek Ayers and his fiancee, Katie Riggs, of New Tazewell, TN, Michael Juliana of Cary, Marianna Juliana of Rural Hall, and Melisa Bullion of Wytheville, VA; five great-grandchildren, Lucas Myers, Marcus Myers, Isabella Myers, Thomas Myers, and Xavier Bullion; a sister, Franie McMillian of Laurel Fork, VA; and a brother, Gurnie Hawks of Laurel Fork, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillian was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Hawks and Gurtie McMillian; and three brothers, Burton Hawks, Troy Hawks, and Harden Hawks. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 5, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Isreal Gwyn officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Darlene Juliana, 90 McAyers Road, Cana, VA.
