Helen Irene Moorefield

Mrs. Helen Irene Jessup Moorefield, age 83 of Norwood, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 peacefully at her home.  She was born in Surry County on September 1, 1934 to the late Hillary and Laura Tilley Jessup.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.  Mrs. Moorefield was a faithful and devoted member of Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church where she played the piano for several years.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Edward Moorefield; two daughters and a son-in-law, Terri Hayes, and Sandra Smith and husband Bob; step-daughters and spouses, Debbie and Michael Privette, Vickie and David Brown, and Wendy and Bill Bowen; a step-son and spouse, Tony and Kathy Moorefield; two grandchildren, Laura Reich and husband Justin, and Preston Hayes; and a precious great-granddaughter, Ainsley Reich; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2pm at Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tony Goins and Rev. Roger Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the church from 12:30 – 2pm.  Memorial donations may be made to Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church, 497 Hatchers Chapel Road, Claudville, VA 24076.
