Helen Louise Garrison Neher

Mrs. Helen Louise Garrison Neher, 92, of Pinnacle, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Neher was born November 20, 1916, in Kosciusko County, IN, to Mark William and Ida Mae Stroup Garrison. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Kenneth Dixon of Pinnacle; grandchildren, Glenn Mock of Kissimmee, FL, David Mock and wife, Sandra, of Mount Airy, and Tammy Hicks and husband, Clinton, of Pilot Mountain; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Neher was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Zachary Mock; sisters, Ola Wilcken, Hazel Neibert, and Mary Ringler; and brothers, Carl Garrison and Lloyd Garrison. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tommy Slate officiating. Burial will follow in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special thanks to Central Continuing Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Neher.
