Henry Martin, Jr.

Mr. Henry Eugene “Pow” Martin, Jr., 84, of Ararat, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Northern Regional Hospital.  He was born in Patrick County on October 3, 1936 to the late Henry Eugene Martin, Sr., and Sarah Eunice Lewis Martin.  Mr. Martin was retired from Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah Robin Martin Lawless and husband Don, Wendy Martin Corvin, Tammy Martin Chappelear and husband, Gary and Donna Martin Bowman and husband, Carlis; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Eugene Martin and wife Donna; grandchildren and spouses, Amber Lawless, Angel Washington and husband, Frank, Harley Lawless and wife Amber, Jessica Corvin Reynolds, Amanda Caudill and husband Jonathan, Brittany Calixtro and Jose, Kacie Chappelear and husband Cody, Brent Martin and Sara, Tony Martin and Deeanna, Ashley Martin; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Christine Hensley, Shirley Griffith, Alice Haymore,  Helen Griffith and husband Raymond; brother and sister-in-law, Leon Martin and wife, Linda; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Juanita Nunn Martin; two sisters, Ethel Vipperman and Thelma Griffith; one brother, Robert Ira Martin.  A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.  James Easter officiating.  Burial will follow in Martin Family Cemetery in Stuart, Virginia.
