Lance Moore, 75 years old, of Pilot Mountain NC passed away peacefully at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice home in Dobson, NC, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He graduated from Surry Central High School and then entered the US Army where he served 1 year in the Korean Demilitarized Zone and then finished out his time in Colorado Springs. Lance retired from Bahnson, Inc after 48 years. Upon retirement he spent his time as an avid hunter and fisherman; he enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family. He was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church in Dobson.
Lance was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Henry Moore; daughter Lancine Moore Thompson; and two sisters Nieta Moore Gambill and Dian Moore Cooley. He is survived by his mother Sena N Moore of Dobson, Nc; two brothers, Dwight Moore (Judy) and Richard Moore (Edna Grosskopf, fiancé). His loving wife of 57 years, Maxine C Moore of Pilot Mountain, NC; Daughter Cindy Moore Alberg; 4 grandchildren; Tyler, Erin and Brandon (Jennifer) Alberg and Justin Moore of Pilot Mountain, NC. In addition, he is survived by 5 great grandchildren: Leia and Kristopher Moore and Korbin, Kannon and Gatlin Alberg as well as many special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, September 4th, 2022, at Rocky Ford Baptist Church in Dobson, officiated by Claude Loyd with VFW military rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Ford Baptist Church, % Claude Loyd, 312 Logun Rd, State rd. nc 28076 or Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice home, 945 Zephyr Rd Dobson, NC 27017.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and caretakers at Joan and Howard Woltz hospice home for all their love and care given to Lance during his last days with us.
