Henry Richard Sawyers

Mr. Henry Richard Sawyers, 79, of Bassett, passed away Tuesday December 23, 2008 at his home. He was born in Patrick County to the late James William Sawyers and Sarah Ida Mize. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Mae Joyce; and four brothers, James Buren Sawyers, Cecil Sawyers, Lawrence Elwood Sawyers, and John Henry Sawyers. He was retired from Bassett Fiberboard and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Virginia "Marie" Sawyers of the home; and one brother, Curtis Sawyers of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross-Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
