Herbert "Butch" Calvin Lancaster, Jr.

Mr. Herbert Calvin “Butch” Lancaster, Jr., age 66, of Stuart, Virginia passed away at his home, Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He spent his last days surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Lancaster was born October 4, 1951, in Roanoke to the late Herbert C. and Virginia Hughes Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a long-time truck driver. He was a hard-working man who lived up to his namesake, Butch. To those who knew him, he was smart, tough, and always up for a good argument. He had a soft spot for his loving wife and his grandchildren. In addition to his family, he was a devoted fan of NASCAR and enjoyed the beach and eating at Red Lobster.

Mr. Lancaster is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Teresa Ann Harbour Lancaster of the home, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Kristina Lancaster of Christiansburg, VA and Justin and Ashly Lancaster of Ararat, VA; five grandchildren, Maranda Lancaster, Hope Williams, Layla Lancaster, and Calvin and Caleb Lancaster; a brother, Mark Lancaster and wife Susan; a sister Juanita Johnson, and  sister and brother-in-law Nanette and Larry Haden; special niece Charise Lancaster Greer and husband Mike and daughter, Addelie; and his devoted dogs Daisy and Dale Jr. (DJ).  

Funeral services for Mr. Lancaster will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Darrel Boles officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. Military Rites provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
