Herbert Dale Coble

Mr. Herbert "Herby" Dale Coble, 57, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Coble was born February 16, 1954, in Surry County, to the late Roland DeWitt and Georgia Childress Coble. He was the owner of Coble Electronics and Automation in Mount Airy. Mr. Coble is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Delane Portis and Betsy and Jim Phillips, all of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, George Coble and Maggie of Merced, CA; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Coble of Mount Airy; a niece, Darnise Grey; nephews, Roger Portis, Jim Phillips, Jody Phillips, Mike Coble, Doug Coble, David Coble, Roy Coble, and Greg Coble; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Coble was preceded in death by a brother, R.D. Coble; a brother-in-law, Jack Portis; and a nephew, Larry J. Portis. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dennis Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or food, the family has requested that donations be made to the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 124 Myers Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
