Herbert Everette Nunn

Mr. Herbert Everette Nunn, 79, of Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday morning, September 24, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Nunn was born July 29, 1943, in Patrick County, VA, the younger of two children born to the late John Everette and Larnie Elizabeth Goins Nunn.  Herbert served our country in the United States Army in the early ‘60s, and he later retired from Pilot Freight Company.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myra Grier Nunn of the home; a son, James Nunn of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter, Marlow McGill of Tacoma, WA; a stepson, Edwin McGill of Sacramento, CA; a stepgranddaughter, Rayanna McGill of Sacramento, CA; and a sister, Frances Ilene Nunn of Siloam.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Nunn Family Cemetery in Ararat, VA, with the Rev. Tony Goins officiating.  No formal visitation will be held; however, the family welcomes friends to the home at any time.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by his caregivers, Denise Bledsoe and Debbie Davis.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
