Hester Hazel Barlow

Mrs. Hester Hazel Barlow passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born January 13, 1925, in Surry County, to Joseph and Annie Spencer. Mrs. Barlow was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barlow was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Barlow; and a special niece, Pat King. She is survived by a sister, Rachel Harvey; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Joy Barlow of Mount Airy; and numerous well-loved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Barlow was the proud grandmother of a grandson, Andrew Barlow of Mount Airy. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
