Hilda Gray Cain Dean

Mrs. Hilda Gray Cain Dean, 74, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Dean was born June 16, 1935, in Surry County, to the late Floyd and Pearlie Sutphin Cain. She was a homemaker and attended Morning Star Baptist Church. Mrs. Dean is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Mark Chappell of Galax, VA, and Tina and Eddie Jackson of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and LeAnn Cain of Mount Airy; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Estelle Barker and Peggy and Harlan Marion, all of Mount Airy, Lannie Lowe and Geraldine Richardson, both of Lowgap; and brothers and sister-in-law, Pete and Hattie Cain of Cana, VA, and Gary Cain of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Noel Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
