Hobert Nelson Morgan

Mr. Hobert Nelson Morgan, age 87 of Ararat, NC, passed away on Saturday morning, December 15, 2018, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home.  He was born in Wyoming Co. West Virginia on May 10, 1931, to the late Maloney and Arminta Morgan.  He was a retired Coal Miner and a veteran of the US Army and of the Baptist faith. In addition, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Morgan, one deceased sister, and eleven deceased brothers. Surviving are his wife, Leona Toler Morgan of the home; three step-daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Jeffery Cline, Angela and Ted Niday, Kristia Beasley; two sons, Gary Morgan, Richard Morgan; two step-sons and their wives, Glenn and Marilyn Whittington, Randy and Anna Whittington; several grandchildren, Waylon Godfrey, Josh Price, Ritchie Morgan, Melissa Nunn, Casey Whittington, Nicholas Whittington, Miranda Whittington, Mariah Whittington, LeAnn Hooker, Brittany Jenkins, Amanda Niday, Amber Niday, TJ Niday, Tiffany Lafferty, Justin Lafferty, Zackary Williamson, Tiffany George, Michael Kightlinger and Mariah Whittington; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with Rev. Travis Lloyd and Rev. Ray Hudson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service.  Following the service, his body will be taken to Stafford Funeral Home, 143 Clear Fork Rd, Oceana, WV 24870.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 947 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
