Homer Easter

Mr. Homer Easter, 82, of 419 Sunset Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009, at his home. Mr. Easter was born June 30, 1926, in Carroll County, VA, son of the late Hilary and Sarah Ester Easter Easter. He is survived by three daughters, Helen Patrick and husband, Allen, of Mount Airy, Rita Easter and special friend, James Bailey, of White Plains, and Teresa Easter and special friend, Ronnie McMillian of Cana, VA; three sons, Melvin Easter, Thomas Easter and wife, Rita, and Bobby Easter and special friend, Mary Draughn, all of White Plains; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Hattie Easter of Mount Airy; and the mother of his children, Hazel Easter of King. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by three brothers, Harlie Easter, Howard Easter, and Alvin Easter. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy conducted by the Rev. Randy Money officiating. Burial will follow in the Easter-Rippey Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who has helped them during this difficult time.
