Howard Conse Allred

Mr. Howard Conse Allred, age 97 of Mt. Airy passed away October 6, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Allred was born April 2, 1909 to the late Bernie William and Mary Maude Barker Allred. He was a retired farmer and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Howard Wayne and Linda Allred of Rural Hall; a daughter-in-law, Ann Allred of Raleigh; four grandchildren, JoVerne Trotter, David Allred, Tracie Ross, and Amanda Yakos; a sister, Martha "Mattie" Watson of Mt. Airy; and a sister-in-law, Loraine Allred of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allred was preceded in death by his wife Susan Ann Cox Allred; a son, Jesse Franklin Allred; a sister, Mary Poore; four brothers, Jim, Ed, Paul, and Worth Allred. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where his body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the service. The family would like to express a special thanks to the skilled nursing unit at Northern Hospital of Surry County and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
